The fascinating thing about aeroplanes is their incredible
technology. Being able to taste freedom and to cross
boundaries is something very speical but also quite natural.
Aviation is the link between home and the longing for faraway
places. The exploration of this technology without depicting it
in precise detail like a photograph, but instead by presenting
it in a simplified form as is the case in a silhouette is, for me,
the basis of my work. Portraying the relationship between
nature and technology is a thrilling task. The aeroplane as an
object becomes the focus of my composition, going beyond
a representation of reality to abstraction. I view my art as a
snapshot of a thought process, which interprets aviation
thorugh the eyes of an artist.

T
he basis of my art arises from the result of constructive
thoughts. The influence of pop art and abstract expressionism
is also unmistakable. From 1976 to 1977, I owned my own
screen printing studio and since then the feel of a screen print
has been visible in almost all of my work. by creating new
compostiional relationships, I attempt to visually encapsulate
the purpose and myth of aviation artistically. Boundless free-
dom in the sky. Landscape, clouds and routes blend into
technology and are reminiscent of abstract paintings. The
balance of colour and form creates areas of energetic tension
Colour with its potential to provide energy is brought into
harmony with design - sensual, individual and expressive.

O
ver the past 30 years I have created an extensive body of
work. From automotive art up to purely geometric work and
pictures of New York. My aeroplane art took a long time to
mature to the point where it is ready to be viewed. Over half of
a human life, building upon that which has already been
achieved, on the tried and tested as well as on the experi-
mental. Always searching for perfection and a clear aesthetic.
My digital art I see as atribute to the art and expression of the
21st century.

I
made my name with my automotive art and pop art pictures.
Created the piece of art "New Beetle" for Volkswagen AG and I
furnished the headquarters of the Citroen AG with art. There
are also pieces of my work in the BMW collection as well as in
the offices of Daimler AG.

T
he message of my work: creative technology in rational
perception = aero.
